Registration

In order to register, please send an E-mail to HoW-exciting-2016@physik.hu-berlin.de.

In this E-mail make sure to include the following information:

  • your personal data (including name, nationality, E-mail address);
  • your affiliation and position (PhD student, post-doc, etc.);
  • name and contact details of your supervisor (for PhD students and young post-docs);
  • your main area of research.
In addition, please specify whether you are willing to attend:
  • the entire event HoW exciting! 2016 (workshop + hands-on tutorial);
  • only the workshop;
  • only the hands-on tutorial.

The deadline for registration to the workshop and/or the hands-on tutorial is extended to June 1, 2016.

Information regarding acceptance will be sent by June 5, 2016. We may also consider registrations after the regular deadline, if places are still available. However, no support can be provided in this case.

We encourage all participants to submit an abstract.

Local-Cost Contribution

The local-cost contribution covers the participants' local and conference costs, in particular, accommodation in double rooms, meals, conference material, coffee breaks, and conference outing.

400 EUR Workshop only
400 EUR Hands-on tutorial only
Accommodation in single rooms is available for a surcharge of 30 EUR per night.

Payment information will be given together with the letter of acceptance.


Support

Financial support is available for PhD students and young post-docs. If you wish to apply for support, please send by E-mail the following documents to HoW-exciting-2016@physik.hu-berlin.de

  • your contact details;
  • a short statement with your educational background, title, and stage of your PhD project (for doctoral students only) as well as your research interests, including a brief description of the methodology you are currently using or intend to use;
  • the contact details of your postdoctoral advisor or PhD supervisor (incl. E-mail address);
  • a short statement with your reasons for asking for financial support.

We need to receive all required documents not later than the extended deadline June 1, 2016.

Participants who submit an abstract will be given preference for financial support.
